New VCare logo....

Business as usual – just with a more appropriate name…

This is just a brief note to advise that the healthcare team at VCare now trade under a new entity, VCare International Ltd.
VCare International Ltd is part of the Concept Engineering Group of companies, and as such there has been no change of ownership or staffing, and no change in terms of our relationship with our clients.
The same people still look forward to providing the same services as before from the same premises, just via a different vehicle which formally aligns our company name with that of our flagship healthcare system, VCare®, reducing confusion for our existing and prospective clients.

Beginning April 2011 we have begun releasing the VCare International Ltd name and logo, this reflects our new company structure which took effect from 1 April.

All of our old contact details (emails, phone numbers) still work.
If you have any questions about any of the above please do not hesitate to call or email us.

As some may, or may not know, VCare International have offices in Christchurch, New Zealand. We are happy to report that the February 22nd Christchurch earthquake, caused minimal disruptions to the office. On the day staff were forced to evacuate the building as the building shook and the main power failed. Thankfully our servers were back online as soon as power returned, allowing us to carry on with business as usual.

We are happy to report that none of the staff suffered any injuries (although the same cannot be said for houses and personal belongings). We are also pleased to announce that the majority of our staff are back in the office and available to take your inquiries.

We apologies for any inconvenience the earthquake may have created for you and your businesses.

VCare is hosting our partner from Health Care Informed (Ireland), John Sweeney, for a couple of days next week and thought it a great opportunity to share his wealth of health quality experience with interested parties while he is here.
To that end we’d like to invite you and/or a couple of your staff to a workshop session with John, here in Christchurch on the morning of Friday 25th Feb at 9:30AM for approximately two hours (venue will be in Christchurch, exact location to be advised dependent on numbers interested in attending). This will be a free workshop.

John and his company are extensively involved in the Irish Nursing Home industry in which they assist Nursing Homes to meet the exacting quality standards required by the Irish regulatory authorities. This includes establishing a proven regime of Care Plans, Measurements and Assessments as well as the relevant supporting documentation.
John’s workshop will be titled “Irish Residential Care Regulation – A local solution to an international problem” and will be reasonably informal and allow time for a question and answer session. Below is a brief biography to put John’s knowledge and experience in context.

Please RSVP to richardr(at)concept-eng(dot)co(dot)nz to indicate numbers likely to be attending.

About John Sweeney BSc MSc
As Director of Health Care Informed (HCI) John acts as the Team Leader in the provision of quality, risk and regulatory support to healthcare clients in Ireland and Australia. HCI clients include several Irish healthcare regulators as well as multiple direct care providers from fertility units to specialist palliative care. Prior to establishing Health Care Informed (HCI), John held the position of Director of Research and Development with the Irish Health Services Accreditation Board (IHSAB). In this role he had overall responsibility for the development of the Acute and Residential Care Accreditation Standards.

He was the Director of the Irish Society for Quality and Safety in Healthcare (ISQSH), where he instigated the National Patient Perception of Care Survey. He was also responsible for the introduction of ISO 9000 into the Irish public healthcare system. He is an honorary lecturer of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and previously sat on the Advisory Committee of the European Forum for Quality in Healthcare. More recently he has acted as the Technical Advisor to the International Society for Quality in Healthcare’s International Accreditation Programme (IAP).
